TOPPO (Born May 17th), is an up and coming rap artist from East Saint Louis, IL. At the age of 14, after being kicked out of his fathers home, Toppo entered the underworld of the inner city streets of East Saint Louis. As a young black man, forced to become a product of his enviornment in order to survive. Toppo hustled in the heart of East Side STL and found music as his outlet to deal with the struggles of Ghetto America. After joining forces with King Louie to create Flo Pro Music, in 2004 Toppo released his first mixtape The 1st Quarter. With a hit song titled, “I’m a G.A.N.G.S.T.A”, Toppo generated a local following in East Saint Louis, IL and Saint Louis, MO. With the streets wanting more, Toppo turned around and released his 2nd mixtape Half Time, which was comprised of 30 tracks mixed with industry instrumentals and orignal beats created by King Louie.
With favorite songs like This Must be Heaven by Bloodstone and an ear for the soulful sounds of the 70’s and 80’s R&B, Toppo invites his fans into his world of “soulful gospel”. After a milestone of working on small projects, Toppo is returning to the music scene with a vision of brining back that authentic street gospel to the forefront of the Hip Hop World. With musical influences and sounds of early R&B pioneers, Toppo’s Henny By Da 5th is scheduled to drop this October. Trust his music is what the streets been missing. Your ears will be blessed with the truth.
